Class Descriptions

Preschool Classes

Parent & Tot (18 months - 3 years)
Child attends class with parent or other designated adult.  This great together time will help your toddler withtheir basic motor skills with focus on gymnastic related activities as well as socialization.

Gym Tots and Gym Kids (3 - 5 year olds)
Children attend without parent.  Classes are designed with the focus on gymnastic related activities and basic motor skills.  This class introduces children to the fundamentals of preschool gymnastics.

Beginner and Recreational Classes

Red Level (5 & 6 yrs)               Little Guys (3 & 4 yrs)

Blue Level (8 and up)              Big Guys (6 &7)
In these class levels, children are grouped by age and/or ability.  They are designed for students with little or no experience in the sport.  Children in these classes will learn the basic gymnastic progressions.

Bronze Level (Intermediate)
This class will introduce students to gymnastic skills beyond the basics.  Students must be comfortable and confident on all pieces of apparatus to be placed in this class.  Strength and flexibility will be stressed.

Silver (Level 1 & 2)
Gold (Level 3)
These classes are the first step to our competitive pre-team.  These classes are also offered to the gymnast who has the ability, but not the desire to compete.

Competitive Team and Pre-Team

Girls Team                             Boys Team
Classes are offered to gymnasts who show the ability and readiness to work on more difficult skills and routines.  They will be asked to make a commitment to the sport of gymnastics that will include disciplined instruction on strength, flexibility, nutrition, advanced skills and USAG routines.  They will attend meets.

Specialized Classes

Private Lessons
Available with the coach of your choice.  Talk to our office staff or coach of your choice to set up time.  Registration and deposit required  

Totally Tumbling
If you want to be a cheerleader, or already are, learn the tumbling skills you need for cheerleading.

Special Needs
If you have a special needs child that would like to stretch, jump, tumble, walk the beam, swing on our bars, crawl through a tunnel and jump into our foam pit, then Downriver Gymnastics is the place
to be!
 

Open Gym (6 yrs* and up) A staff member will be on hand to supervise.  This is a great opportunity to get in some extra practice or have some fun. 

*Parental supervision required for 5 years & under.

 

Preschool Parties (2 ½ to 5 yrs) Drop the kids off at DG for an afternoon of fun.  We’ll play games, make a craft, have a snack, listen to a story and even do some gymnastics!  You can take 2 hours for yourself to run errands, do lunch, sleep or shop all without the kids!

 

Birthday Parties Celebrate your child’s next birthday with us.  Parties last for 1¾ hrs and consist of age appropriate group activities and games, as well as gymnastics.  Our staff handles set-up, activities, passing out food and clean up.
